Malaysian Prime Minister asks for international definition of terrorism

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on Tuesday said an international definition of terrorism should be reached that includes state acts by Israel and Russia.

"At the moment the definition tends to be confined only to Islamic nations and Muslims at large, whereas Israel and the Jews are also [a] terrorist state or people," the national news agency, Bernama, quoted Mahathir as telling a conference in Kuala Lumpur.

"Even Russia, for that matter, is a terrorist state as it has killed thousands of Chechens," he was quoted as saying.
