June 3, Roston-on-Don (Russia)
The military court in Rostov-on-Don should resume hearings concerning Russian Colonel Yuri Budanov, who had been charged with rape and murder of Chechen girl Elza Kungayeva in late March 2000.
June 10-12, Voronezh (Russia)
The Committee on Migration, Refugees and Demography of the Council of Europe holds a hearing on the humanitarian situation of refugees and displaced persons in CIS countries.

The European Parliament holds a plenary sitting.

The Inter-Regional Human Rights Network Group, which runs web portal Human Rights Online, holds international conference "Outlook for Freedom". The conference will focus on the implications on human rights and freedoms during the worldwide campaign of struggle against terrorism and extremism after the tragedy of September 11 and on protection of online civil rights (privacy, freedom of access to information, freedom of speech).
