May 18-19, Tbilisi
2nd International Congress "The Contemporary World and Human Rights in the Caucasus" takes place in the Georgian capital. Its agenda includes: 1. The question of self-determination of the Chechen nation and the contemporary world; 2. The rights of nations and the globalisation; 3. The human rights situation in the Caucasus; 4. U.S. President George Bush visits Russia.
May 25, Prague
Infocafé Utopia holds the opening day of "Chechen Views", an exhibition of photographs made by the staff of ARCHA during their stay in Chechnya and Ingushetia. The exhibition lasts till June 8.
May 28, Rome
