January 24 - March 17, Germany & France
Performances of Daymokh, Chechen children traditional dance and music troupe, will take place in various places around Germany and France (Dusseldorf, Strasbourg, Rennes, Lièges, Lyon, etc.) See Daymokh´s program of performances and the troupe´s background in French language at the website of Comité Tchétchénie de Paris.
February 5, Brussels
The meeting of the representative of the Parliament of the Chechen Republic Vagap Tutakov with the members of the European Parliament and some non-governmental organisations (e.g. Medecins sans frontieres, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch).
February 21 - August 4, Amsterdam
Photos from Chechnya 1868-2002 - An exhibition of photographs from Chechnya takes place in the Dutch Resistance Museum, Amsterdam.

February 23 - Deportation Day
The 58th anniversary of Stalin-era deportations of 650,000 Chechens and Ingushes to Soviet Central Asia and Siberia in 1944.
Rallies and demonstrations marking the anniversary will take place in the following places:
Belgium: The Transnational Radical Party holds a protest rally at 11 a.m. in 31-33 Boulevard du Régent, Brussels, in front of the Embassy of the Russian Federation to the EU. More information is available at nkhramov@yahoo.com.
Czech Republic (February 24): The SOS Chechnya Committee holds a commemorative rally at 3 p.m. on February 24 in the Wenceslas Square in Prague. More information is available at mail (at) watchdog.cz.
Denmark: The Danish Support Committee organises an anti-war protest rally in front of the Russian embassy in Copenhagen. More information, including large background material on the deportation, is available here.
Finland: Chechnya Association holds a demonstration at 2:00 pm in
front of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Helsinki, Tehtaankatu 1.
France: The Chechnya Committee of Paris holds a commemorative rally near the Centre Beaubourg (museum) in Paris. A tent will be set up in which we will welcome the public to time-space for information, music, food prepared by Chechen refugees, speeches, photos, music (the Chechen singer Ali Ibraguimov) and film showings. From 11 a.m till 4 p.m.
Germany(February 25): The Chechen Cultural Centre in Hamburg holds a rally in protest against the war in Chechnya in front of the Russial Consulate.
Great Britain (February 22 & 24): A Petition of support for the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria and to stop the war in Chechnya is to be delivered to No.10 Downing Street, the British Prime Minister Tony Blair's office. More information is available from Anya Lauchlan goldfishbooks@btinternet.com. On February 24 Workers Aid and the Chechnya Committee hold a meeting of solidarity with Chechen people. Italy: The Transnational Radical Party holds a protest rally at 11:00 a.m. in front of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Via Gaeta, 5, Rome.
Lithuania: The Support committee for the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria holds a rally in Vilnius.
Netherlands: Action of "memory of victims of deportation of Chechen people in February 23, 1944" will take place in the Hague, the Netherlands, at 2:00 p.m. Source: islam999999999@hotmail.com.
Poland: The Chechen Information Centre and the Committee Poland-Belarus hold a rally at 12:00 a.m. (noon) in front of the Russian Consulate in Krakow, Westerplatte 11. Besides marking the anniversary of mass deportations of Chechens, this is a protest against the continuing agression on Chechnya and also against Russian support to the Lukashenko's regime in Belarus.
Prayers will be held in Polish mosques in Gdansk and Warsaw. The main intention of the prayers will be freedom for Chechnya and Belarus.
Russia: The Radical Antimilitarist Association (ARA) and the Transnational Radical Party hold a rally in the Smolenskaya-Sennaya Square in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow at 2 p.m.
Sweden: The Swedish Committee for Chechnya organizes a demonstration at Norrmalmstorg in Stockholm at 11 a.m. Speakers of all parliamentary parties and the Swedish branch of Amnesty International are expected to present their speeches.
Turkey: Chechen Solidarity Committee organises a rally in Ankara on Feb 23-24. More information should be available at cecendaykom@hotmail.com .
USA: The Boston Committee Against Ethnic Cleansing holds a demonstration "to commemorate the genocide of 1944-1956 and protest the current war in Chechnya" in Dartmouth Street Plaza, Boston between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
The American Committee for Peace in Chechnya" (ACPC) should hold a vigile at 5-6 p.m. in front of the Russian embassy in Washington, 2650 Wisconsin Avenue, NW.
According to unconfirmed reports, similar rallies are to be held in Amman, Baku, Berlin, Istambul, Kazan (Tatarstan, Russia), Minsk, Poznan, Tbilisi, Warsaw, and other towns.
