February 5
The first anniversary of the well-documented massacre in Novye Aldi, in the suburb of Grozny. During a so-called mopping-up operation following the fall of Grozny, Russian troops killed dozens of civilians. No one has been held accountable for the war crime. February 16-17
Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation (UNPO) holds its VI General Assembly in Tallinn, Estonia. The General Assembly will be preceded by the conference "Universal Declaration of the Rights of Peoples" on February 15. The conference will adopt the final redaction of the Declaration and submit it to the General Assembly.

Russian NGOs organize on the Pushkin square in Moscow a rally against the war in Chechnya, which should start an all-Russian campaign for ending the war

- Danish Support Committee for Chechnya organizes a Torch Vigil in Copenhagen(more...).
- The Society for Threatened Peoples will have a demonstration in Berlin (more...).
- The Chechnya Committee of Poland (Komitet Polska-Czeczenia) will hold an event in Warsaw (more...).
- The Chechnya Committee of Paris organizes a demonstration in Paris (more...).
- The American Committee for Peace in Chechnya is organizing a candlelight vigil in Washington, DC (more...).
- Lithuanian Support committee for the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria will organise a rally/manifestation in Vilnius.
- Workers Aid and the Chechnya Committee in London are holding a public meeting of solidarity with the Chechens in London (more...).
- The Chechnya Committee of Strasbourg is organising a rally on the site of the old synagogue which was destroyed by the Nazis. Candles will be lit in memory of the deportation of the Chechen people by Stalin, and to commemorate the victims of the current war (more...).
Similar demonstrations (organised by different pro-Chechen organisations) are to be held in Krakow (Poland), Minsk (Belarus), Kazan (Tatarstan), Ankara (Turkey) Tbilisi (Georgia), Orebro (Sweden) and Norway.
