An attempt to kidnap two people in Ingushetia

Ruslan Isayev, North Caucasus – An attempt to kidnap two people, Imran Musalayev and Isu Minkailov, from a passenger bus was reported in the Ingush town of Malgobek on Thursday.

The armed attempt was made by three residents of Chechnya, Sergei Ismailov, Magomed Delimkhanov and Anzor Magomadov. The men carried employee IDs of the security service of the head of the Moscow-backed Chechen administration Akhmad Kadyrov.

These kidnappers tried to seize the two men in a passenger bus packed by ordinary citizens. During the fight, one of the kidnappers opened fire inside the bus and wounded Imran Musalayev in his leg. Approximately at the same time, somebody detonated a hand grenade, which caused immediate death of four people including Musalayev. Nine other persons were injured and taken to the local hospital.

After that, the kidnappers forced Isa Minkailov into their car and drove away from the scene. They were captured by the Ingush police at the administrative border with Chechnya.

All the detainees were put into a preliminary detention cell of the Malgobek police station and were charged with armed assault and kidnapping.

According to the Ingush law enforcement bodies, Chechen authorities have not yet officially confirmed whether the detainees are linked to Kadyrov.
