Attacks in Vedeno district

By Ruslan Isayev

CHECHNYA - This morning, guerrillas in the northern outskirts of the village of Agishty in Vedeno district fired on a UAZ jeep carrying officers of the North Caucasus RUBOP (anti-organized crime police squad).

As a result, one of the RUBOP policemen was killed and two were wounded.

At about the same time, the motor vehicle of an officer of the security service under the command of the Moscow-backed Vice-Premier Ramzan Kadydov came under fire on the Shali-Makhkety highway from an ambush in a forest tract. The ?kadyrovite? was taken to the Russian military hospital in Khankala with serious chest wounds.
