Hail Mr. Bush and Mr. Putin!God-knows what youngsters they were who instigated the racist attack in the streets of Moscow were beating up Afghans.
At the end of the day, it isn't in the least important who those youngsters actually were: football fans, skinheads or fascists. And it is not the first time that they have instigated pogroms in the streets or on the market.
But before they used to beat up Azerbaijanis, since Azerbaijanis, they said, are the same as Chechens. And now they are beating up Afghans since Afghans have been named the scapegoats for the terror acts in America.
An Afghan girl was denied admittance to hospital, the refusal being motivated by the fact the girl had no medical insurance policy on her.
Russian children, as well as homeless alcoholics and scumbags, are usually admitted even without insurance, and, after all, that's fair since doctors are bound to their Hippocratic oath.
However, as far as Afghans are concerned, it has suddenly emerged that in Russia the Hippocratic oath does not apply to them.
In the wake of the war in Afghanistan, I have started wearing a pakul, an Afghan woollen cap, like the one (recently assassinated prominent Afghan guerrilla chief - Gazeta.Ru) Ahmad Shah Masood used to wear.
Now my acquaintances and colleagues scold me, calling me a terrorist accomplice.
"Why should I be a terrorist accomplice?" I ask.
"Because you dress up like a terrorist. It is the same as if you wore an SS uniform cap!"
Nothing of the kind, I say. An SS cap is a part of a military uniform, a uniform of a military alliance that was found guilty of crimes against humanity by court. But a pakul is a national Afghan clothe. The Taliban movement may be found guilty of crimes against humanity in court, although it has not been yet, and therefore, is presumed innocent and is entitled to legal counsel.
But the Afghan nation never, under any circumstances could be found guilty of crimes against humanity.
And that is why I am wearing a pakul, so that people do not confuse Afghan nationals with terrorists.
But they still do. People obstinately continue to be Nazis.
The thing is that only a few young men are stupid and bloodthirsty enough to beat up Afghans just like that, right on the streets.
But then 70% of Russians and 90% of Americans support the war in Afghanistan, that's to say they simply want somebody else to beat up Afghans for them.
In other words, the overwhelming majority of Russians and the overwhelming majority of Americans are, in fact, passive skinheads.
President Bush launches the military operation in Afghanistan. However, he does not throw an A-bomb on Afghanistan, which the overwhelming majority of his electors would like. Well done Mr.Bush!
Instead, he goes to a mosque, despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of his non-Islamic electors would like to see Muslim civilization destroyed by the Christian one.
And Bush's electors are not even trying to conceal that desire of theirs any more.
Before September 11 the so-called political correctness, practiced in America, deterred them.
But after September 11 even in America the majority no longer gives a damn about political correctness.
Still, Bush, in defiance of his electors' longings, does not kill all Afghans to a man, but kills only those, whom he does not know how not to kill and at the same time to preserve the status of head of the superpower.
The overwhelming majority of Russians would like Putin to do away with every single Chechen, including women and children. But Putin is not doing that. Well done, Mr.Putin!
In my own opinion, America ought to relinquish its superpower status and cease raising banners in the name of freedom and democracy over the whole world.
And, again, in my very personal opinion, Chechnya should be let go. But my opinion is wrong. And one cannot demand such things from Putin and Bush.
It has just occurred to me that both of them must be having a hard time resisting the temptation to adopt the bloodthirsty methods of their Nazi-electors. It must be very difficult for them to preserve democratic freedoms, racial tolerance and religious tolerance in their states in which the majority of the population craves for blood in order to get rid of fear.
For them both, Putin and Bush, it must be difficult to refrain from launching a hysterical terror attack against the whole world.
Bush's rating would most likely fall to zero if Bush ever confessed that he had no real evidence of Bin Laden's implication in the (Sep.11) attacks, and, therefore, he - Bush - would not declare war on anyone, but would investigate.
Putin's rating would slump too if Putin ever admitted he was not able to defeat Basayev and Khattab, and therefore, would not wage any war until he contrives how to preserve civilians' lives, to apprehend offenders and to bring them to trial.
All of a sudden, I have realized that neither Putin nor Bush have any other way now, but to continue their wars. And, thus, I have grown to respect both at least because their methods of war are not as atrocious as those of their electors on the streets and markets. |
