Ramzan Kadyrov appointed head of compensation payments

Ruslan Isayev, North Caucasus - Ramzan Kadyrov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Moscow-backed Chechen government, has been appointed head of the commission responsible for paying compensation for the loss of housing. The decree was signed by Chechen leader Alu Alkhanov, who after rigged August elections is now known as the president.

Alkhanov announced the appointment at a government session on Monday, saying he trusts and relies on Kadyrov to bring order to compensation payments.

“Many residents of the republic have criticized the present commission and although we have drawn on administrative bodies from Moscow and Grozny, no proper order has been realized regarding this issue,” said Alkhanov.

Earlier, the compensation commission was headed by Eli Isayev, Finance Minister of the Chechen Republic.

Ramzan Kadyrov is the busiest official in the Chechen government. In addition to this new appointment, he is also the security forces adviser to the Southern Federal Region’s envoy.
