Russian soldiers seize five Chechens in Kharachoi

Ruslan Isayev, North Caucasus - Russian soldiers arrested five young Chechen men a few days ago during the latest mopping-up operation in the village of Kharachoi in the Vedensky district.

Despite all their efforts, relatives have been unable to locate their whereabouts, nor do they even know the reason for the men's arrest.

Kharachoi villagers claim that these men had no ties whatsoever to any combat operations or armed groups.
