Artillery shell kills four people in Serzhen-Yurt

Ruslan Isayev, North Caucasus - Four civilians died in a Chechen village southeast of Grozny after an artillery shell hit their house. The Russian military, however, denies any involvement in this tragic accident.

This morning the 42th tank regiment of the Russian Defense Ministry, based in the Shalinsky district, shelled the surrounding forest area. One of the shells landed on the house of a local resident, killing him, his wife and two young daughters.

The Russian military said the shots were not fired from the area in which their artillery was located. An investigation has been started.
