Blast hits FSB building in Magas

Ruslan Isayev, North Caucasus - The headquarters of the local branch of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) in the Ingush capital of Magas was partly destroyed by a powerful explosion that hit the building shortly before noon local time.

Several people died and about twenty others were wounded, the Ingush Interior Ministry told Prague Watchdog's correspondent.

About twenty cars went on fire, said the policemen who cordoned off the area. The explosion made a crater almost two meters deep.

The military and police stepped up security measures and tightened checks of vehicles, especially lorries.

The construction of the building lasted several years and FSB moved to it from its old headquarters in the center of Nazran this summer.
