GROZNY, Chechnya – A partisan camp was discovered near the Yalkhoi-Mokhk village in southeastern Chechnya during a search of the area after a vehicle containing three members of the Moscow-backed president’s guard hit a landmine on Wednesday (see our report).
The camp covered over 100 square metres and could easily have held up to 50 resistance fighters, none of whom, however, were there at the time. But ammunition and food was discovered
In the Leninsky district of Grozny, Russian special forces arrested three young people suspected of being members of the so-called Shali Jamaat. The exact reason for their arrest is not known, nor what has happened to them since. (MG/E,T)
